AHR Strikes International Day
Asian Horse Racing followers were not disappointed on Hong Kong's biggest day of the year.
Winners flowed throughout the day including a clean sweep of the International majors.
Highland Reel having its final start before retirement proved too strong in the Vase, given a great ride by jockey Ryan Moore. AHR rated Highland Reel 2.25 with as much as 4.0 bet by the corporates.
Mr Stunning, proved he is the best sprinter in Hong Kong and one of the best in the world, providing Nash Rawiller with his first Group 1 success in Hong Kong.
AHR rated Mr Stunning an odds on chance at 1.80, with 2.50 freely available throughout the day.
The Hong Kong Mile saw local horses dominate with our second rated horse, Beauty Generation leading throughout. Priced at 4.60, as much as 10.0 fixed odds was bet about it.
The Hong Kong Cup looked a two horse race on paper and that is how they finished, Werther and Time Warp were both rated at 2.50, with the best overlay winning in Time Warp for Zac Purton.
Other significant overlays on the meeting included Key Witness, Southern Legend and Wah May Friend.
